SpaceX accepts a loss of $1000 for each Starlink user.

SpaceX is having to make up for a loss of more than $1000 for each set of Starlink satellite Internet receivers. According to Ms. Shotwell, during the initial testing period, the price of this set of equipment was estimated at about 3000 USD (~ 70 million VND). However, after being improved, SpaceX was able to cut the production cost in half. With a policy of putting customers first, SpaceX accepts to compensate for losses to sell this product to the market for only $ 499 (as cheap as 1/3 of the production price).

The Starlink product set includes a white, saucer-shaped satellite receiver. Besides, the cable, charger and Wi-Fi router included. The monthly cost of Starlink users will be about $ 99 (~ 2.3 million VND). This is considered a rather high price compared to traditional Internet services. However, SpaceX is committed to providing near-perfect service quality and users will not be disappointed with their decision.

As of February, about 10,000 people in the US and globally are using Starlink’s satellite Internet, although this is only SpaceX’s Better Than Nothing Beta test program.
