It didn’t seem like much, but EA just posted a picture of a hot drink with the EA logo on it. Hot water creates steam (Steam), which suggests that EA titles will return to Steam. EA games have only been exclusive to Origin on PC since Battlefield 3 launched in 2011. Crysis 2 was also removed from Steam after that (though it returned after a year).
If this one tweet isn’t convincing enough that EA games will return to Steam. Well, earlier this week, @RobotBrush found a test app to run Origin games through Steam. Maybe it will work like Uplay, when the game is sold on Steam but needs to open a separate app to play.
If that’s the case, that means we’ll be able to play Apex Legends and access our Steam friends list, and new titles like FIFA and Star Wars Jedi – Fallen Order.
