Overkill has released a new trailer for its zombie shooter, The Walking Dead, and confirmed the game’s official release date. The studio’s The Walking Dead has been delayed quite a bit since it was announced in 2014, but fans’ patience is well worth it. Players can start participating in Overkill’s The Walking Dead on November 6.
The trailer that Overkill decided to share at the E3 2018 PC Gaming Show covers the entire gameplay of the game. Although the description is gameplay, we do not know if it is real gameplay or just a gameplay simulation. Either way, everyone still has an impressive look at the game in this latest trailer.
The new trailer shows the four characters of The Walking Dead fighting off an army of zombies that combine guns and melee weapons. Features such as helping teammates fall or sneak attacks also appear in the game, creating depth for this zombie shooting game.
Over the past year, Overkill has introduced a total of four playable characters in The Walking Dead, thereby helping us conclude this is a 4-player co-op game. We have Heather the daycare teacher, Grant the wilderness guide, Maya the surgeon and Aiden the building architect. All had a pretty good life in Washington DC before the Zombie pandemic broke out, and all 4 found themselves living in a world without purpose.
It’s been a long time since Overkill released Payday and Pay day 2, both titles that helped define the online co-op shooter genre. It’s time for Overkill to return. A 4-player FPS co-op is just what the PC community needs right now, and when Valve doesn’t release Left 4 Dead 3, we can really expect from The Walking Dead.
Overkill’s The Walking Dead is out November 6 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
