After introducing two mini-games in the Gears world, Microsoft unexpectedly confirmed Gears of War 5. The game is currently being developed by The Coalition and the company announced the game with a story-focused trailer.
The trailer shows us a few cutscenes, when the character uses jetski/boat to run across the water, through the forests and shoot down a few enemies. However, this trailer was just the surface of the game and Microsoft then revealed more details about the gameplay of Gears of War 5.
In an interview after Microsoft’s press conference, Aaron Greenberg, Microsoft’s marketing director, responded to information about the game. Greenberg explained that Gears of War 5 “has a lot of different nuances,” not only changing a lot from its predecessors, and that season 5 will feature “a much more open world.”
Greenberg explained Gears of Wars 5 will “have a lot of open-world elements”. While he didn’t go into detail on what those open-world aspects are, and how they’ll affect the traditional Gears of War experience, Greenberg said that “the team has taken the time to expand and build upon it.” think bigger.” Hopefully, ‘bigger’ means a better game.
Before the official announcement, there were rumors that Gears of War would have a Battle Royale mode. While this information was not released at E3 2018, it may have been in the imagination of the development team. In a way, battle royale allows players to go anywhere within that map, which fulfills the open world requirement that Greenberg mentioned.
Although Gears of War 5 does not have a Battle Royale mode, this game will definitely create a fever for Microsoft followers when the game is officially launched. Gears of War 5 is currently in development for Xbox One and will launch in 2019.
