E3 2019: The best game trailers

Trailer E3 2019

Even without Sony, this year’s E3 2019 still brings impressive trailers, many surprises and lots of information about upcoming products from Bethesda, Ubisoft, Microsoft and others. Unlike last year, not many studios put gameplay into their trailers, most of what you see are just computer-generated movies (CG).

Anyway, here is a list of the best trailers at E3 2019 past:

Cyberpunk 2077

The most prominent name at E3 2019 was CD Projekt Red’s ambitious open-world game, Cyberpunk 2077. The CG trailer introduces the male version of V, with many plot elements at the same time as the official launch of V. game. Most interestingly, the character Jonny Silverhand in the game is played by actor Keane Reeves of the blockbuster John Wick.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild part 2

As Nintendo once said, they tend to focus on games that are coming out in the near future, usually a year back. However, Nintendo shared shocking news at the end of its E3 2019 Direct. Breaking that tradition, Nintendo released a trailer for the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The trailer shows Link and Zelda exploring the cave beneath Hyrule Castle and encountering Ganon’s reincarnated corpse.

Halo: Infinite

Billed as Microsoft’s biggest game yet, Halo: Infinite returns to this year’s E3 and arrives at the end of the show. This year’s video focuses more on the plot, as the UNSC pilot spots Master Chief floating in space. After resurrecting the hero, a mysterious golden spark hit USNC Pelican, forcing Master Chief to pick up his gun and jump off the ship. For fans who want more information, Microsoft will bring Halo Infinite back at E3 2020, before Project Scarlett’s winter break 2020.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate – Banjo-Kazooie revealed

The second character in the Smash Bros DLC was revealed at the end of Nintendo’s E3 2019. They cleverly repurpose the King K. Rool trailer, this time bringing King inside Donkey Kong’s house with Diddy. The trailer plays out similarly, with Duck Hunt Dog toying with the group until Banjo and Kazooie show up. For many fans, it was a great moment to see King K. Rool, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Banjo, and Kazooie appear together once again, under the development direction of studio Rare.

Watch Dogs Legion

Although Watch Dogs Legion leaked a few days ahead of schedule, the trailer still showcases the unique gameplay and gameplay mechanics of this potential game. Fans are told how to recruit teammates and play them. You can become a rock singer, an 80-year-old woman, a businessman, etc. in Watch Dogs Legion. The game will let players feel the city of London in the near future.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

At the beginning of the Square Enix E3 2019 presentation, fans got a better look at Final Fantasy 7 Remake, a highly anticipated title. The trailer gives players more detailed information about the battle system, boss battles and introduces the characters that have never been announced before, Tifa Lockhart and Sephiroth. The trailer also introduces more of the city of Midgar, and this time the city will play a more important role in the plot.

Marvel’s Avengers

In addition to Final Fantasy 7, another major Square Enix game expected by fans is Marvel’s Avengers. Although this game has been announced before, we have almost no information about the game at all. The trailer at E3 2019 gives fans their first look at the game and the five superheroes that kick it off: Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk and Black Widow. As you can see in the trailer, the celebration turns deadly, and that event splits the Avengers. It was not until 5 years later, when a new dangerous force appeared, that the Avengers members reunited.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

At EA Play E3 2019, Electronic Arts gave fans their first look at Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. However, a day later, at Microsoft’s press conference, a new trailer appeared showing gameplay and a lengthy demo in the presence of Cal. A lot of plot details are drawn, including the presence of supporting characters, such as Saw Gerrera.

Pretty tight-lipped after Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider, Arkane Studios returned to E3 2019 with a new trailer for their latest product, Deathloop. The trailer emphasizes the action sequences and the presence of two characters who constantly have to fight each other on Blackreef Island. Both assassins constantly confront each other to protect their ideology: one tries to protect the loop, while the other wants to break it.

GhostWire: Tokyo

The next big project from Shinji Mikami and Tango Gameworks was announced at Bethesda’s E3 2019. Titled GhostWire: Tokyo, the slick CG trailer introduces future Japan with many citizens suddenly disappearing. Fans also see some supernatural elements in the game.

Rainbow Six Quarantine

With the DLC scheduled to launch in 2019, fans were quite surprised to see the new indie game of the Rainbow Six brand appear. Unlike Rainbow Six Siege, Rainbow Six Quarantine expands the Outbreak co-op mode that appeared in the game in early 2018. There is nothing new about this game, but the horror-sounding trailer shows that players will confront the plague that was present in Outbreak mode.

Elden Ring

Another game that leaked early, Elden Ring, is a collaboration between author George RR Martin of the popular Game of Thrones series and Hidetaka Miyazaki (FromSoftware). Although the gameplay is still a mystery, many fans expect the fantasy concept and familiar gameplay of the Dark Souls series. Elden Ring is confirmed to be FromSoftware’s biggest project ever, incorporating RPG action elements.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

The sequel to the 2015 indie hit, Ori and the Will of the Wisps expands on many of the core elements of its predecessor: adding more boss battles and the game’s dreamy locations. Ori and the Will of the Wisps continues to exploit the platform and movement mechanics that made the first part so successful. The nearly 2-minute trailer that appeared in Microsoft’s E3 2019 brings a lot of gameplay, but the most prominent is the beautiful graphics and the way to exploit color.

Doom Eternal

As expected, Bethesda ended its E3 press conference with Doom Eternal, showing us plenty of fast-paced shooter gameplay, and a unique multiplayer system called Battle Mode. Fans also know more about the plot trailer: the evil army invades Earth and the player’s role in the fight against them. The game is still violent and bloody, bearing the Doom brand.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening

While fans are already somewhat aware of the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, the new trailer still surprises you. This video introduces more gameplay with innovative graphics, the trailer also brings back Dampé, a character who appeared in old parts of the game like Ocarina of Time. Dampé offers a dungeon maker mode, allowing players to collect items and create their own dungeons. Rumors suggest custom dungeons could be shared with other players, but Nintendo has yet to comment further.
