The latest update of Dying Light brings a brand new difficulty setting, suitable for those who like to focus on the game’s plot.
Story Mode weakens the undead, the player’s attacks become stronger and doesn’t require much stamina. The player also doesn’t lose too much health after falling, so the penalty for missing jumps will not be as severe as before. Medkits restores twice as much health and if you die, the player will only lose half of the experience points compared to normal mode.
Dying Light really becomes dangerous at night, when the “harder” Volatiles appear, stalking and chasing players who have not found safe shelter. Volatiles alone caused most players to “run away with slippers”, but the update made things a little more bearable by extending the day time and shortening the night time.
Money is also not an issue in the new update. Merchants will pay more for goods purchased from players in Story Mode, and relief packs will stay on the map for twice as long. The only downside to playing Dying Light in this mode is that the amount of Legend experience is halved compared to normal, so it will take longer for players to unlock skills in the Legend tree.
Story Mode has the following content: players will play the role of a secret agent with a mission to an isolated city in the Middle East to track down the person capable of destroying his organization. Unfortunately, the above plan was derailed by an outbreak of zombies.
Besides Story Mode, the developer Techland added new weapons, blueprints, explosives, events, and skins. Hopefully the above factors will be enough to make players feel excited about the game after the information Dying Light 2 release date will be delayed. If not satisfied enough, players can join Dying Light’s free battle royale mode right now.
