Since its launch in early February, the game parkour hit zombies of the Techland received quite a few positive reviews. The developer plans to support the game for many years to come, part 1 of Dying Light also get some new features, including New Game Plus mode.
Techland announced that as of February 28, 2022, the studio has sold 5 million copies Dying Light 2 and this number is increasing significantly every month. The publisher also noted that sales of the original game also surpassed 20 million.
Both games have received countless positive reviews on Steam. This is not surprising as Dying Light benefits from a system of free and paid DLC after launch. Techland has previously expressed its intention to repeat the above development plan with a sequel and ended the announcement with an introduction of a new upcoming content. The studio is committed to continuing to support Dying Light 2 with both free and paid DLC for the next 5 years.
Techland released an ambitious roadmap in January with the hint that patch 3 will also bring a bunch of exciting events, and that the first DLC part of the main story is still slated for a June release. Techland CEO Paweł Marchewka added: “The success of the Dying Light franchise is a great example of the unforgettable experiences we create for our players.”
