Novaruu is a rising star of the genre Just Chatting (chat only) of Twitchbut she won’t be able to stream after communication This suspended her for three days.

Twitch suspended Novaruu on December 10, on the grounds that she held a contest or giveaway, which violates Twitch Terms of Service. She was banned for three days for this violation.

Novaruu has speculated that she has been banned under a Twitch ruling regarding an offer to buy a company or property that its owners did not claim.

Pursuant to section 9 (iii) of the Platform’s Terms of Service, the streamer Unsolicited offers, advertisements, recommendations … are not allowed to users of the Twitch service, including … those related to promotional giveaways.

Streamers must also comply with US laws when making gifts like this. Alabama, Hawaii and Utah have banned lotteries in their states. Novaruu currently resides in Texas, but is still subject to Federal law regulations.

The Federal Trade Commission rules that sweepstakes promotions that require a participant’s purchase are illegal in the United States.

Novaruu goes live on Twitch in the “Chat Only” category with around 1000 viewers per day. She is a Twitch partner with nearly 100k followers on the platform and 44k followers on Twitter.

She recently organized a fundraiser for the World Wildlife Fund, raising nearly $4000 for conservation charity.

Novaruu will return to Twitch after a three-day ban that ends on December 13, or sooner if she successfully appeals.​
