This week, Epic Games Store’s free game giveaway event will continue under the name Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander. This is a classic-style tactical RPG game from Massive Damage.

Inspired by monuments like Master of Orion, Star Control, X-COM, Massive Damage has created the strategy game Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander with extremely attractive gameplay. In addition to the elements of strategy games such as building bases and deploying troops, Halcyon 6 is also full of RPG role-playing.

To develop military power the player must gather resources from neighboring worlds. They also have to deal with attacking enemies such as pirates and aliens who infiltrate through the portals. There are two forms of combat, ground-to-ground and anti-ship, both of which operate in the manner of a turn-based RPG. Players can use combos to exploit vulnerabilities and apply status effects to give them an edge on the battlefield.
