Mineski said goodbye to Lai “Ahijt” Jayson. His six-month run with the organization ended with a disappointing 6th place at the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor, the tournament that might finally have given Mineski a chance to break into the top 12 of this season’s DPC rankings.
Mineski Dota has decided to part ways with our carry, Lai “Ahjit” Jay Son. We are thankful for his contributions to the team thus far. Our team is currently exploring our options and will announce our new roster soon. pic.twitter.com/fcDLK6IovR

Ahjit joined the Southeast Asian team in January of this year and competed with them in 5 DPC tournaments. Mineski made it to three LAN Majors, but their best ranking was only 9-12. Without losing too many points, the team decided to change their blood after the Stockholm Major.
Kim “Febby” Yong-min and Johan “pieliedie” Åström were replaced in March by Ryan “Bimbo” Jay Qui and Michael “ninjaboogie” Ross. However, this change did not improve the team’s results. Mineski lost their ticket to EPICENTER and recently, they constantly had bad luck that put them in a difficult situation. Visa problems caused the boys to be late to the tournament and forced to compete while still suffering from air sickness. The team narrowly won the first series in the group stage but lost the next two series. In the end, Mineski failed to make it to the playoffs.
Mineski’s weak performance in this DPC season is reflected in the meager 286 points and 16th place. The team’s last chance to get to TI9 is the regional qualifiers. The open qualifiers are scheduled to start from July 3, while the closed qualifiers will run from July 8 to 15, 2019.
With limited time, both Ahjit and Mineski have about two weeks to put everything together for the most important tournament of the year. Notably, we currently have a carry who is a TI champion but no team yet. Liquid’s Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urapalainen was benched last week and would be a logical entry for anyone looking to find a carry for the TI9 qualifiers.
Mineski’s current lineup is as follows:
- Kam “Moon” Boon Seng
- Damien “kpii” Chok
- Ryan “Bimbo” Jay Qui
- Michael “‘Ninjaboogie”‘ Ross
