Dota Auto Chess: Guide to play Goblin, super buffalo lineup

Goblins and Mechs are obviously the strongest starter combos and thus they are also the most common in the game. It gives you a quick winning circuit to increase your own economy. Since you only need three pieces in the early game, we can either build a second combo early or leave the Goblins completely (since they aren’t strong in the mid game).

However, if you continue to use Goblin, you can pursue (6) Goblin bonus. They are quite strong late game.

Goblin Tactics Synthesis

Almost all Goblins in the early game are Mechs – this is one of the reasons why they are so strong in the early game. With just three pieces, you’ll get (3) Goblin bonus (plus 15 armor and 10 HP regeneration for a random ally) and (2) Mech bonus (15HP Regen for all Mechs) – helping the pieces Yours is very cool. While Mech’s healing will soon weaken over time, in the early game the enemy won’t have enough damage to finish off your heroes immediately, which means they will have plenty of time to heal and continue. continue fighting.

At the end of the game, your goal is to get the (6) Goblin bonus (Plus 15 armor and 10 HP recovery for all allies). It will make your squad extremely strong – it is equivalent to the armor of the (6) Warrior bonus, but applies to all pieces, with the addition of healing (including (4) Mech bonus) and Massive AoE damage from Techies. In addition, you have 4 more empty cells to combine combos or other strong heroes.

Strength

Weakness

  • Extremely strong in the early game
  • The lineup in front is strong
  • Strong late game.
  • Gives you the option of selling them after the mid-game to exchange for another combo or pursue (6) Goblins
  • Weak in the middle of the game
  • Weak against magic damage late game
  • Often contested in the early game, making it difficult to get to 3-stars if a lot of people go after the goblin path

List of Goblin heroes:

Bounty HunterBounty Hunter: 1 gold, Goblin, Assassin

Considered to be the best starter in the game. Very few early game squads can compete with 2-star Bounty Hunter. If you get Goblin Nanobot, taking out this hero early game is almost impossible. However, Bounty Hunter will be weak in the late game (unless you follow the Assassin strategy), so upgrading this hero to 3-star should not be the top goal (not necessarily bad – BH is cheap so you can You can do that if there is space in the reserve area.

ClockwerkClockwerk: 1 gold, Goblin, Mech

Hero tank in the Goblin squad. Adding armor as well as healing helps Clockwerk live longer, which means he can deal more damage with Battery Assault. Clockwerk doesn’t have a high DPS, so it’s usually one of the first pieces you want to sell if Goblin isn’t available.

TinkerTinker: 1 gold, Goblin, Mech

Slow attack speed, which means slow mana regeneration. Because of that and thanks to the Goblin/Mech combo bonus, you often want to put this hero in front to cast Missle faster (they deal high damage). If you get a Void Stone (and possibly speed items), you should put this hero behind so that you can launch Missle multiple times in a round. Since Tinker’s move deals high magic damage, the hero can combine with the magic resistance reduction of the Mage combo.

TimbersawTimbersaw: 2 gold, Goblin, Mech

Timber is a very valuable hero for being both strong and dealing high AoE (Pure) damage with a low cooldown. Upgrading this hero to 3-stars is the main goal if you’re after a Goblin in the mid-late game.

Alchemist hero iconAlchemist: 4 gold, Goblin, Mech

Extremely cool, especially when you combine the Goblin bonus with the hero’s ultimate. Remember, Chemical Rage increases the hero’s attack speed, so putting DPS items on Alchemist is not a bad idea if you don’t have a better piece.

Techies PortraitTechies: 5 gold, Goblin, Mech

Hero helps you win the game. This is a 5-gold hero, so make sure you have plenty of money and reach level 9/10 to increase the probability of getting this hero. Techies are not only important in the (6) Goblin bonus, but also provide tremendous damage. If you don’t get Techies for a long time, you can lose a lot of health in the mid game.

GyroGyrocopter: 5 gold, Dwarf, Mech

Not a Goblin, but Gyro is a Mech. Although there is no need for Goblin strategy at the end of the game, because 6 (Goblin) already have 4 (Mech) bonuses. However, Gyrocopter still benefits from the Mech bonus, and if you go after Mage as a side combo, this hero will unleash his ultimate.

How to promote Goblins:

Early game

The beginning of the game with Goblins is quite simple. Get 3 Goblins (and 2 Mechs) as quickly as possible, if lucky – upgrade them to 2-stars. It will help you win the first few PvP rounds. However, at this point, you need to make a decision. Should I continue chasing the Goblin or change to another combo in the middle of the game?

You can delay this decision until the mid-game really starts to see what’s in the shop. But if you get a lot of Goblins early in the game, then choose the first – you can also try the “Bet Strategy”:

Betting Strategy with Goblins

This strategy takes advantage of the probability of getting more Goblins when your courier is low level (since they are all 1 to gold pieces). So instead of playing the “normal” way and slowly building up your economy, you can start rerolling the shop early so you don’t level up. This way, you will level up the high level Goblins as soon as possible and keep yourself on the winning streak.

  • You can start rerolling to find upgraded Goblins from Round 4 to Round 13 without having to upgrade the courier and save gold.
  • After Round 13, keep rerolling, but try keeping the Mage (or another extra combo).
  • After Round 17, stop rerolling completely and play economically. If you find the 3-star upgrade you’re after early, go for early normal (this will increase your chances of winning).

This is called a betting strategy because of its risk: If you can’t find the Goblin you need to upgrade, you lose. With that said, you can earn them quite a lot and this is considered a “better” way to pursue Goblin tactics. The obvious disadvantage here is that you need to make a decision early (around round 4).

Between game

Although the Goblin is buffalo, it does not do high damage, so you should start building the team behind. Troops like Razor or Shadow Fiend will be of great help in the early-mid game because your Goblin will gradually lose its position.

  • If you don’t use Goblins at all, Let’s start replacing them with better pieces. In general, once you’ve sold one of the Goblins, start replacing the other two as soon as possible because you won’t be able to keep the combo anymore. If you’ve upgraded a Timber, replace him last (you may not need to replace him if you don’t need space for another combo, but you’ll most likely replace Timber).
  • If chasing (6) Goblins at the end of the game, continue to upgrade the general. But don’t forget the second combo as they will be your main source of damage mid game. (3) Mage is the best choice because most Goblins deal magic damage with their ultimate.

Late game

Get Techies ASAP. You want to have a good economy and get to level 9 quickly to increase your chances of getting Techies early.

Once you own this hero, you have to make a decision:

  • You want to play on a normal economy until your HP starts to drop, and you are forced to invest all your rerolls to upgrade.
  • But if facing a strong Mage squad, invest it all at level 9 to get stronger faster, and (hopefully) take down your opponents faster. With 2-star Techies and 3-star Tinker/Timber, you make a big difference. The reason is that you can hardly win extended rounds against Mage – they don’t care about your armor or your HP regeneration. In general, 10vs10 is completely beneficial for Mage (also, take Naga + Tide to add (2) Naga magic resistance bonus if possible).

Goblin formation examples

GOBLIN + MAGE

TinkerBounty HunterRazorCrystal MaidenKeeper of the Light

Previous: Clockwerk, Timber, Techies, Alchemist
Behind: Tinker, Bounty Hunter, Razor, Crystal Maiden, Keeper of the Light

Combo: (6) Goblin, (4) Mech, (3) Mage, (2) Human

Mage is considered the best combo with Goblins in the mid-late game for two reasons:

  1. Tinker, Bounty Hunter, and Clock deal magic damage with their ultimates. That is (3) Mage bonus helps them deal extra damage (especially Tinker). Also, Goblins lack mid-game damage, so units like Razor are extremely valuable.
  2. At the end of the game, your source of damage is Techies’ AoE nuke. Mage increases this AoE’s damage, allowing you to clear the entire enemy team.

If there are Crowns or Void Stones, give them to Tinker and take Tinker to the back. Combined with the (3) Mage bonus (and ideally Crystal Maiden), it will greatly increase Tinker’s DPS, allowing Tinker to cast multiple Missles in a round.

In this formation, you have 9 pieces. Usually with the 10th piece, you’ll want Tidehunter or Medusa to control the board, but if you believe you don’t need the extra control you can add a damage AoE (like a Lich or a Gyrocopter).

Note that Techies deals physical damage with his ultimate, so getting the (2) Undead bonus at the end of the game is not bad. You can trade one of the Mages for a Lich, then add a Necrophos/Death Prophet to it.

GOBLIN + DRAGON + ASSASSIN

Previous: Clockwerk, Timber, Techies, Alchemist, Tinker
Behind: Bounty Hunter, Queen of Pain, Viper, Puck, Dragon Knight

Combos: (6) Goblin, (4) Mech, (3) Assassin, (3) Dragon, (1) Demon

In the middle of the game, you combine Bounty Hunter with Queen of Pain and Viper to get (3) Assassin bonus. It allows you to add damage in the background – QoP is extremely valuable because this is the only Demon and will also help you through the mid game.

At the end of the game, follow the Dragon direction. Since you already have Viper, just add Dragon Knight and Puck. If you have a Dragon (ideally a 2-star DK), but are level 9, change the Queen of Pain – (3) Assassin bonus doesn’t matter much late game.

AoE damage from Dragon Knight synergizes well with Techies’ AoE.

GOBLIN + WARLOCK + UNDEAD

Previous: Clockwerk, Timber, Techies, Alchemist, Tinker
Behind: Bounty Hunter, Shadow Fiend, Death Prophet, Necrophos

Combos: (6) Goblin, (4) Mech, (3) Warlock, (2) Undead

Goblins don’t really benefit from the Warlock bonuses as they don’t deal much hand damage, and they’re good enough on their own – what you’re looking for is increased damage. However, there are two reasons why this lineup isn’t so bad:

  1. You can get Shadow Fiend early – this will be your main damage mid game.
  2. You can get (2) Undead bonus from Necrophos + Death Prophet. It’s valuable because Techies deal solid damage. In addition, the 2-star Death Prophet with (6) Goblin bonus will last a long time and deal extremely high damage.

The above lineup has 9 heroes. If the economy is good, you can take Enigma as 10th piece – this hero will increase your DPS. Or, you can take Tidehunter if you feel out of control.
