We enter the final day of the first Dota 2 DPC 2020 event. WePlay! The Bukovel Minor will end with the losing bracket final, followed by the grand final.
The first match of the day was easy between Nigma and Geek Fam. Both want a rematch for revenge against Royal Never Give Up, the team that defeated both of them before. Unfortunately for the Southeast Asian team, after an impressive journey, they could not match Nigma – the team that constantly struggled in the tournament. Although the first game could have easily gone to Geek Fam, Nigma still found the opening for a quick 2-0 win.
With that victory, Nigma won a ticket to the finals to meet rival RNG, who pushed themselves into the losing bracket. The winning team will qualify for the DreamLeague Season 13 Major. With RNG, the journey this time is almost perfect, it seems that they have reached the peak of their performance. Game 1 was proof that they played so well against the Nigma lineup and completely destroyed the TI9 runner-up.
Game 2 went on for 80 minutes. It was the first professional match where a tier 5 neutral item appeared. The two sides fought back and forth. Although RNG led by 24k networth, a few big mistakes made them lose their advantage and Nigma immediately equalized. Nigma continued his mental advantage, taking the Phantom Laner again in game 3 to finish the game in 23 minutes. Nigma temporarily leads 2-1.
The fourth and final game of the series continued for 64 minutes. This time, RNG wants to push the final to the decisive 5th game, with the advantage of 40k networth. But Nigma ended up defending the highground too successfully. With near-perfect team play, Nigma becomes a WePlay champion! Bukovel Minor.
With this championship, the first DPC 2020 event is over and Nigma will be the last team to advance into the DreamLeague Season 13 Major, which is just a few days away from us.
