Mineski was the first team to qualify for TI9 through the regional qualifiers after defeating Jinesbrus 3-2 in the dramatic Southeast Asia final.
Entering the Southeast Asian qualifiers, the team with the Jinesbrus phoenix logo is one of the most interesting stories in the Southeast Asia qualifying journey. The team features Nico “Gunnar” Lopez in mid, former Mineski support Kim “Febby” Yong-min, and two other Korean members, Lee “Forev” Sang-don and Park “March” Tae-won. Despite possessing big names, the team’s 17-year-old carry is the one that stands out the most: Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon. Morphling, Slark, Anti-Mage, Naga Siren or Wraith King of 23savage all terrify opponents.
This roster was created just a few weeks before the regional qualifiers and made it all the way to the Southeast Asian grand finals. They topped the group stage with a total of 61 points, but Mineski was the only team that could stop these boys.
Mineski changed 2 members just 2 days before the TI qualifiers closed the roster. Mineski pushed Jinesbrus down to the previous draw, but had to rematch them again in the final.
As expected, Morphling was always banned first in the entire series finale. Even so, Jinesbrus still won game 1 and almost won game 4. When the score was 2-1 in Jinesbrus’ favor, the team could have won but they were too aggressive when they tried to push the tower. Mineski’s tier 4. Unfortunately, Mineski successfully defended the push despite being in a short position. From there, Mineski won Roshan to help them push to game 5.
In the final game of the regional qualifiers, Jinesbrus got the hero Ember Spirit for Gunnar with some good answers to counter Mineski’s draft. At the end of the game, even though the kills were fairly even, Jinesbrus’ Ancient was the first to be destroyed because Mineski had two powerful heroes in teamfight and high ground attack, Death Prophet and Shadow Shaman.

With this win, Mineski can prepare Visa and pack to go to TI9, with TNC Predator and Fnatic representing Southeast Asia.
Qualifiers for other regions have not ended yet. Recently, Na`Vi won the right to attend TI9 of CIS and they were able to return to The International after a three-year wait.
