A day of knockout competition took place at the Chongqing Major. Round 2 of the losing bracket will see 4 more teams leave with suitcases.
Chaos Esports Club meets ViCi Gaming as the series kicks off the day. The Chinese team had a favorable game 1, almost crushing Chaos. Although w33’s Earth Spirit was able to overcome VG’s Lina in mid, the other two lanes were completely overwhelmed by VG. w33 got to Veil of Discord early but it didn’t help my team. Earth Spirit’s ability to silence and block enemies doesn’t make a difference when VG constantly uses Tidehunter and Terrorblade as the locomotive. Paparazi completed Manta Style in 14 minutes into the game and just 5 minutes later he had the Eye of Skady – allowing him to finish the game without dying.
Immediately after game 1, the Chaos players regained their spirits and leveled the series thanks to w33’s impeccable performance from Timbersaw.

VG wanted to capture Terrorblade and Tidehunter in the first draft, allowing Chaos to find a way to counter the opponent. VG completely lost the draft and handled it worse in the game. However, in game 3, the team changed tactics and opened the draft with Centaur Warrunner and Rubick, while Chaos got ready to fight early with a Visage, Tusk, Disruptor lineup. VG took the advantage in the laning phase with mid Puck and Lich, completely dissolving Chaos’ plan. In the 15th minute, VG had surpassed 7k networth and although the team did give Chaos a small chance to come back when losing to Roshan in the 17th minute, VG made no more mistakes and entered the top 8 Chongqing Major.
With Chaos Esports Club, the team finished 9-12th at the Chongqing Major, with 150 DPC points and a $15,000 prize pool.
