Here’s a tutorial by xuisoko on Reddit:
I found a game carry Ancient III vs carry Divine III. I watched the match from the perspective of both of these carry players. I myself am currently at mmr 6150, which is about 1k higher than Divine player, while that person is 1k mmr higher than Ancient III.

Lane phase comparison
In this comparison, I mean both players lost lane. Carry Ancient farm more because he is the Wraith King, while carry Divine holds Morphling. But in the end, WK lost that match.

Use Aggro effectively | ✔️ | ✔️ |
Adapt your starting item to the starting item of the same lane suport | ✔️
Enter the forest instead of feed | ✔️ | ✔️ |
Adapt items to the match (jungle or win lane) | ✔️
Block Hard Camp when support doesn’t block
Prioritize living instead of fighting | ✔️ |
Specific analysis of mistakes:
In short, Ancient carry (WK):
- Lose lane
- Entering the jungle at level 4 but he got the wrong jungle gear (going into the jungle is the right choice)
- Didn’t realize this before that I had to go to the jungle, so WK got the wrong item (on wand and armor, instead of Gloves of Haste, Blight Stone).
Divine Carry:
- Lose lane
- Realize this and rush Morbid Mask to the jungle.
Between game
Ancient Carry has a big advantage of 5k networth at 25 minutes, but the game feels like Divine Carry is the stronger one. Net Worth is not the deciding factor.

Exploit Power Spike moments | ✔️ |
Dead Lane: Safe your lane after the laning phase (usually when the T1 turret is gone).
Power Spike: The time when a hero becomes strong due to reaching a certain level or gaining a specific important item.
Specific analysis of mistakes:
Ancient Carry (Wraith King):
- Get on Armlet at the right time, but don’t join the teamfight for the next 5 minutes (half of the Desolator has been farmed)
- He is present in the lane, when the team is pushing another lane. That caused my team to die.
- Done correctly but 3-4 minutes later than the time it should be done before.
- Died 2 times in dead lane.
Divine Carry (Morphling):
- Play very safe
- Avoid dead lanes
- Fight with Eblade (immediately, not waiting 5 minutes like WK)
- Only fight in the offlane (where Morphling should fight. This is the position where the opponent won’t win anything even if he wins the fight)
- Knowing that he’s a stronger carry late game, he’s under no pressure but to push lanes, solo kill with Eblade, and farm until the opponent can’t control Morphling.
All these little details helped Morphling reach 18-1 late game, while WK only 13-7 despite having a great start with a difference of 6K Net Worth.
At that time, WK had 13K Net Worth, and Morphling had only 7K. Patience and the right decisions helped him turn the tide.
I break down each step in the video, so check it out if you’re close to reaching Legend, Ancient or Divine.
