After nearly 10 years of playing Dota 2 professionally, Saahil “UNiVeRsE” Arora decided to hang up the mouse.
We’re having a rough week, especially for Dota 2 fans who have been following the game since its early years. A few days ago, Peter “PPD” Dager said goodbye to the professional scene, announced his retirement, and left Ninjas in Pajamas.
Now, the TI5 UNiVeRsE champion also announced the suspension of the mouse.

His greeting was brief and to the point. After almost 10 years, it was time for him to go in a different direction.
Offalner, Saahil is famous and experienced gamer. He has participated in seven Internationals before.
During his first TI, he was part of the Online Kingdom, along with his longtime teammate Fear. After The International 2011, UNiVeRsE played for multiple teams, before joining Evil Geniuses in 2012. At that time, he only stayed with EG for a short time before working as an offlaner for Dignitas in January 2013. with Dignitas, UNiVeRsE became one of the best offlaners and was praised for its work. After finishing 9th at TI3 with Dignitas, UNiVeRsE reunited with Evil Geniuses, helping the team reach 3rd place at The International 4.
It wasn’t until TI5 that he reached the pinnacle of his career – winning The International title with Evil Geniuses. At the time, UNiVeRsE was praised for its ability to create space for the team and excellent tackles at the right time.
TI6 was equally impressive as the team almost got a second Aegis, but EG had to finish in 3rd. Continuing to play for the North American team with TI5 teammate SumaiL, the offlaner finished TI7 in 9th- 12 disappointing.
Then, Evil Geniuses made a shocking announcement when they parted ways with UNiVeRsE, added MiSeRy, and changed SumaiL to offlane. UNiVeRsE became a free agent for about a month before he arrived in Southeast Asia, replacing offlaner Ohaiyo on the Fnatic roster.
Things are also not going well for him and the new squad. Not enough DPC points to win a direct invitation to The International 2018, Fnatic had to go through a tough regional qualifier. Once again, he finished 13-16 at TI8 disappointingly.
After TI8, he joined the North American team, Quincy Crew, and was later recruited by Forward Gaming. The 2018-2019 season saw the team reach 14th place with 300 points, almost winning a direct invitation to TI9 in the middle of the season. Then in March 2019, this offlaner parted ways with the team and he decided to take a break from playing. This is the first time he has missed a TI in his career.
UNiVeRsE returns to DPC for the 2019-2020 season, rejoining former TI5 teammate PPD at NiP. Together, they played rather poorly. At the beginning of April, UNiVeRsE parted ways with the team, due to the Corona epidemic that has adversely affected the gaming community.
