Doctor Strange 2 reveals new details, the ultimate wizard was stabbed in the back by an old friend

As one of the remarkable films in the 4th phase of MCU, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is receiving great attention from fans. Although the film’s first season director, Scott Derrickson, did not continue to serve as the helm of the film’s production team Doctor Strange 2 but Marvel trying to find an alternative title and make sure the movie comes out on time. During that time, Marvel’s studio has also updated new details surrounding the film.​

A synopsis of the film has been revealed, which states:

Referring to an old friend who has now become an enemy, many people think it could be Mordo. In the first movie, Mordo was on the same side with Stephen Strange, but later due to disagreement with what Dr. Strange and the Ancient One that made Mordo turned their backs on them. In a post-credits scene, Mordo steals mysterious energy from a man and leaves a statement saying “there are too many witches in the world”. This scene shows that Mordo will return but as a villain.​

In the comics, Baron Mordo is one of Dr. Strange, so it is likely that this character will be the catalyst for the next movie. However, it seems that Mordo is not the only villain. The title of season 2 and Derrickson’s previous comments reveal that the super villain Nightmare will be the hostile force that Stephen Strange will have to contend with during this time.​

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to hit theaters on May 5, 2021.​
