Non-profit organization Limitless Solutions cooperated with CD Projekt Red and Xbox to create real life version of robotic arm of character Johnny Silverhand. This project was first shared on Xbox Wire, with the reveal that the prosthetic arms were inspired by Cyberpunk 2077 will be donated to clinical trial participants next year.
In the behind-the-scenes video, viewers learn more about how Limbitless Solutions built the prosthetic arm and how it functions. The arms have a more accessible rack and are designed to better accommodate the patient (with the ability to grasp objects and perform movements).
Limbitless Solutions employee Remy Marasa said in the video: “We put a lot of human expressions on our prostheses and that helps people navigate life a little bit better. It’s amazing when you play the game, get inspired by the character in that game and even be that character when you wear one of these arms.”
This isn’t the first collaboration between prosthetic companies and game developers. Before that, Konami’s Metal Gear Solid V arm also attracted the attention of many people.
