Co-Founder CD Projekt RedMarcin Iwiński said that the Cyberpunk team is currently working on fixing the most difficult bugs and problems that often appear in games and software. DLC Will only launch after the issues are resolved.
In a video posted on the official website of Cyberpunk 2077, Iwiński said that he and the leadership team took full responsibility for Cyberpunk 2077’s bad launch in December. Although the game received good reviews on PC, the console version on older systems still had many bugs. and poor optimization. Worse, players only found out about this after they purchased the game, as testers were only given the Cyberpunk 2077 test code on PC before then.
Iwiński said the reason for the move lies in the problem of optimizing the graphics in the game. The massive optimization of Cyberpunk 2077’s content and gameplay for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 is a challenging task for the engineers of CD Projekt Red.
Iwiński said: “Night City has a lot of things while the bandwidth capacity of older consoles is quite limited, which constantly hinders us. In the end, we underestimated this task.”
Iwiński said CD Projekt Red was able to start playing PC code in early December, but needed more time to prepare for the console version. He explains: “Every working day brings a marked improvement on the Day Zero update. This is why we started sending test codes to the console on December 8, later than originally planned.”
The future goal of CD Projekt Red is to ensure that users on all platforms can experience Cyberpunk 2077 without errors and issues. In the next 10 days, the game will receive an important update after 3 hotfixes. In addition, another major update will be released in the next few weeks. Once the bugs and issues are fixed, CD Projekt Red can start considering bringing the first DLC to Cyberpunk 2077.
