In contrast to Overwatch, Fortnite and Rainbow Six: Siege, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive continues to be one of the top competitive multiplayer games in the world. Therefore, many people will be quite surprised to hear that the game’s next DLC may include co-op missions.
This datamine information was compiled by YouTuber Tyler McVicker on Valve News Network. McVickers’ latest video reveals two new maps in the game – Import and Grind – and some new things that show a co-op mode called Co-op Strike is coming to CSGO.
The most obvious evidence comes from two maps in “operation 9” of CS. These two maps, called Import and Grind, were revealed by the artist contracted with CSGO – whose name was not given to protect his identity. The artist is involved in other DLC maps, including Blackgold, Junction and Studio – all of which are already live – but the two maps mentioned above are not yet available.
“Import” is described as “Map defusal at a derelict shipyard in Japan”. “Grind” is a defusal map, taking place “in a uranium mine in the middle of Namibia, Africa”. Both of these maps will be included in the “coming DLC”. As the VNN video below shows, SteamDB shows many unannounced DLC still in development – including images of upcoming maps.
As for co-op missions, there is less evidence – but dataminers appear to have found multiple files mentioning the words “coop”, “cooperative” and “coopmission”. They are mentioned in the unreleased icons of the game’s new Panaromic interface.
What do you think about the co-op mode in the game? Are they similar to some co-op missions in Operation Hydra or Operation Wildfire?
