CSGO: How to use the new ping system with Chat Wheel menu

Valve has created 50 different options for players to set up in three new CSGO Chat Wheel menus. By default, menus can be displayed by holding down the ping key and selecting with the mouse wheel. The extended ping system has become the norm in many games these days, with Apex Legends helping to popularize the feature, while shooters like Valorant extend it further. CSGO’s Chat Wheel might take things to the next level.

Instructions for setting up ping options in Chat Wheel

There are three customizations you can set up. For example, players can use one of the two extra Chat Wheels before the round begins, which CSGO gamers often mark the bombsite or ask their teammates to follow. Pings range from basic “Yes” to things only used in microphone communication such as “I hear footsteps” and “Multiple enemies here”. Players must choose the types of ping they want in the Chat Wheel menu in CSGO, which means you will have to choose 24 in total if you plan to use all three menus.

Unlike Apex Legends, CSGO’s Chat Wheel does not display content when pointed at, ie the system does not recognize what is behind the crosshair when you ping. Overall, CSGO has 50 different options, the most of any FPS game currently on the market.

You can find the ping options list in the game’s menu under “Keyboard / Mouse”, then go to the “Chat Wheel Keys” submenu. Below is a summary of the list of ping options.
