CSGO: ATK “sends” G2 and North home at the ESL Pro League finals

In esports, teams sometimes need just one tournament to create a strong rationale for why they should be in the upper echelons. For North and G2, their desire to prove to the world that they should be title contenders has failed, at the hands of a relatively unknown roster trying to make an impression.

Chief ATK and North both soon found themselves lower in the group, but ATK took the opportunity to send North home after only 2 maps.

motm, Sonic and Floppy all played great against the Danes and influenced the North Kjaerbye star’s performance and the return of the cajunb.

As for ATK, they faced adversity shortly after that success, getting stunned by G2 in the first game on Vertigo, losing 16-4 when they couldn’t stop G2’s T-side and even unable to plant a bomb in the second half of the game.

They had a similar situation on Train, but on the verge of being eliminated, they increased the score from 12-5 to 16-13. With that momentum, they blew G2 away on Inferno, just like they did with North.

ATK, who are they?

In Denial’s original lineup, only Sonic and JT remained, Sonic only rejoined in September after leaving Envy in June. ATK has since supplemented the duo. South Africa a promising trio of talents from the US, that is motm, Floppy and oSee.

They have come close to qualifying for the round final ECS season 8 in just the first few months of practicing together. They won one of the series ECS North America. In that ECS match, they impressed with a win over MIBR and a close follow-up to Team Liquid.

Regardless of how ATK did in the rematch with meddports, they got their biggest cash prize at a single event and were able to get a spot at WESG in China if they win one of their three games against Canadian team LiViD Gaming on December 7. The gamer very excited about the team’s prospects.

As for North, they will try to end 2019 with some momentum as they aim to qualify for WESG and compete at DreamHack Open Sevilla. It is a string of bad results for them since the Berlin major.

G2 is still tweaking their new additions from CR4ZY and will meet a familiar face at cs_summit 5 when they meet NBK- and the new OG roster.​
