Coldzera takes on the role of in-game leader in place of FalleN

SK Gaming’s CS:GO team is undergoing unprecedented role changes after months of fruitless competition.

Gabriel “FalleN” Teledo will cede the position of in-game leader to Marcelo “coldzera” David, the player who was ranked number one in the world in 2016 and 2017 by HLTV. Coldzera said he will take the position in an interview with HLTV, after the team finished last in the group at this week’s IEM Sydney tournament. FalleN also confirmed on Twitter today.

In the previous SK roster, coldzera was often used by FalleN as a player to create mutations thanks to his ability to eat many lives and clutches. But now, SK’s roster has completely changed, in part because they just signed former Cloud9 member Jake “Stewie2k” Yip. Stewie2k replaces Epitacio “TACO” de Melo, a support player for SK before moving to Team Liquid.

Since then, the team has struggled both in the game and in real life due to the language barrier. SK was forced to communicate in English before the arrival of Stewie2k – instead of Portuguese as usual. According to Coldzera, he and boltz are the two people who have the most difficulty communicating in English.

Coldzera explained that FalleN wanted to focus on AWP shooting rather than calling in game tactics. More importantly, FalleN believes that some of the best teams in the world can read and predict his calls. This change can create a lot of problems, as coldzera’s ability to fire will be reduced by this adjustment. This happened to FalleN every time SK changed in 2017 and it happened on both occasions when SK brought in felps and boltz.

“When you play two years in a row, win everything, people watch the demo, they know how you play,” colzera said in an interview with HLTV. “Before they copy it, they will try to understand how your system works. I think this change will bring good.”
