COD Modern Warfare joins hands with Black Lives Matter, determined to tackle racism

In the face of a series of protests taking place around the world on the issue of racist, Infinity Ward claims to increase censorship for ids that show signs of racism in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone. The studio thinks they need to take harsher measures – most Call of Duty players agree with this view.

Infinity Ward wrote on Twitter: “We do not allow the appearance of racist content in our games. This has been a goal since the game’s launch and now, we do. We need to take this goal more seriously. We’re banning thousands of accounts with racist and discriminatory ids every day, but we know this is not enough.”

Infinity Ward is doing:

– Install more resources to track and detect racist content.
– Added reporting systems to increase the number of hourly bans.
– Enhanced filters and greater restrictions on name changes.
– Review improvements in the game to make it easier to report harassment.
– Increased permanent bans to completely remove frequently violated ids.

The developers of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone also apologized to players and pledged to prevent racist practices in their titles.
