Cloud9 closed the Dota 2 segment after three months of returning to this community.
The organization returned to Dota 2 after a two-year hiatus at the end of January 2019. Their roster was originally registered in the Southeast Asia region and competed for a spot in the ESL One Los Angeles Major. But the Team failed the first big test and the roster was adjusted and moved to North America. The latest roster of the blue and white team sees old names reunite: Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao, Johan “pieliedie” Åström and Rasmus “MISERY” Filipsen. Unfortunately, they did not achieve much.
In the last BTS Pro Series Americas tournament, Cloud9 had a record of losing 0-10, but recovered in time in the final stages of the group stage to enter the playoffs. However, the team was eliminated in the first round of the losing bracket series. Within three months of participating in Dota 2, Cloud9 ranked top 6 at DOTA Summit 12, top 6 BTS Pro Series Americas and top 4 in the WeSave charity tournament! Charity Play.
“Cloud9 announces its departure from professional Dota 2. Effective immediately, all members of our roster are available to sign with other organizations,” the organization posted on its official website on April 28.
Today Cloud9 steps back from Dota 2.
We thank all members of the team for their efforts as part of #C9DOTA and wish them the best of luck!
