Users can spend 300 points in honor of a content in the community. This will tag the content, and the recipient will get an extra 100 points for themselves.
Bonus points can honor many things, including screenshots, Workshop items, tutorials, as well as user reviews. Valve did not specify how it will affect the review segment.
According to this initial leak from this Steam Point system, it is possible that you will be able to buy the game at a discount, but official information on this is not yet available.
