Censored in Japan, Cyberpunk 2077 must remove all sensitive nudity scenes

In spite of Cyberpunk 2077 uncensored in many countries including Australia as many feared, however CD Projekt Red recently confirmed that the game will be heavily censored in Japan. Therefore, the game that players in this country will receive will be slightly different from the original game.

Japan has a tradition of censoring game titles to limit the content that its citizens are exposed to. The country has a much more conservative stance than the United States on this matter, so it’s not surprising that the Japanese version of Cyberpunk 2077 will have major tweaks to avoid trouble with its release.​

As you know, in a mission V will lead a naked person for a few minutes, this is also one of the content that CD Projekt Red has to adjust. Maybe this character will be given a bra or some other type of clothing. Any sexually explicit content will be edited or removed from the game. Some graffiti with sensitive images will be hidden or completely changed. Not only that, some scenes of bloody violence such as cutting limbs or sticking out intestines will also be adjusted in this version.​

What’s surprising to the fans is that Japan doesn’t Content censorship related to the drug of the game. As you know, Japan is very strict about the use of drug images in games, which is why the famous series Yakuza had to be removed from store shelves in this country. Cyberpunk 2077 also uses drugs in the details of the game, but surprisingly, there is no censorship notice related to this banned substance.​

Cyberpunk 2077 has pushed back its release date to November 19 of this year, we don’t know if the game will launch on time, but if CD Projekt Red’s super product reaches the gaming community in 2020, surely it will be a serious contender for the Game of the Year award. Cyberpunk 2077 will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PC platforms as well as new consoles in 2021.​
