Two months after BlizzCon 2020 was canceled, Activision Blizzard said it would make a difference for next year’s event.
Activision Blizzard announced it would host a virtual BlizzCon in early 2021. The show’s producer said that by the time BlizzCon 2020 was canceled in May, the company was looking for a way to “bring BlizzCon’s soul and connection to you online. .”
Like every other major gaming event, BlizzCon was canceled due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The state of California, where the event is usually held, asked all citizens to stay home for non-essentials and only go shopping for essentials.
BlizzCon is Blizzard’s biggest annual event. During the previous year’s event, many games and expansions were announced, including Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV. Esports events are also often held, like the Overwatch World Cup, to invite teams from around the world to attend.
Currently, BlizzCon online has not announced the time of organization.
