According to an insider inside Blizzard, a new Overwatch game is likely to be announced at BlizzCon in November of this year.

Blizzard CEO J. Allen Brack has said that the publisher is looking to expand the Overwatch franchise. And based on the latest leak, we may have a new game in the Overwatch world coming out this year.

This news comes after Kotaku newspaper reported that the first-person shooter game Starcraft has been canceled.

Overwatch 2- More than just a joke

According to Kotaku, an unnamed member from Blizzard confirmed the Starcraft shooter has been canceled so the team can focus on Diablo 4 and “Overwatch 2”.

Both games are expected to be shared at this year’s BlizzCon, following the disastrous announcement of mobile game Diablo Immortal at BlizzCon last year.

“Overwatch 2” has long been a meme in the gaming community. Now it looks like it will be a reality, set in the Overwatch world.

According to sources inside Blizzard, “Overwatch 2” – or whatever it’s called in the end – will focus on the PvE element. Kotaku said many Blizzard members compared the game to Left 4 Dead.

What do we have while we wait for BlizzCon?

Overwatch just started Double Experience over the weekend (6-10 June) to wrap up the Anniversary event, and this will be the last chance for players to get extra event skins until the Summer Games begin in August.

Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan promises more new content for Overwatch this summer with new heroes, so fans should definitely have more to look forward to before BlizzCon kicks off this November.
