BioWare is working hard on Anthem demo at E3 and EA Play

June is almost here, it’s also the time for the next gameplay of Anthem, EA’s multiplayer RPG game, is about to be revealed. Although Anthem announced a few months ago that the project would be delayed until 2019, the presentation of the game will still take place at E3 and EA Play this year. BioWare’s Brenon Holmes took to Reddit to assure fans that the team is working hard to make this presentation extremely special.

Anthem has a lot of ambitious features: open world, co-op with RPG elements, weapon upgrade system, in-game economy and story of your choice. We’re not too surprised to hear that BioWare is working hard on a complete demo, with E3 nearing. This is an extremely fierce period between game studios to create attention for players.

In addition to the hopes of the features mentioned above, players also have to worry about how EA will react to the ‘scandal’ that EA has created since 2017. Star Wars Battlefront 2 was fiercely criticized for its useless microtransaction logically, as it uses a loot-box system that many players consider a ‘pay-to-win’ analogy. However, EA has made it clear that they won’t make the same mistake with Anthem again.

E3 2018 will run from June 12 to June 14, which means that EA Play will take place a few days before between June 9 and June 11, which will be when Anthem will be shown. There were some games with gameplay that showed up during the demo but then didn’t show up in the final build, but this won’t be the case with Anthem. Holmes replied to a fan on Reddit that if BioWare wasn’t scheduled to show up at E3, they would have scheduled it in a different direction.

The upcoming demo will mark an important turning point before Anthem’s launch, as the BioWare development team has encountered some difficulties in the past. In July 2017, BioWare CEO Aaren Flynn left the company, and a few months later, the project’s famous screenwriter, Drew Karphshyn, also left.

However, that’s not all bad news for Anthem, as Karpyshyn completed the storyline before leaving BioWare, which somewhat reassured fans. In addition, CEO Andrew Wilson of EA also confirmed that the development of the game is being closely monitored. The truth of how Anthem has been developed or whether the said features will appear or not, we will see soon at the E3 and EA Play demos in June.
