The biggest question for The International 2020 that fans are wondering is whether Valve will continue to release the Battle Pass TI10 as planned.
As with previous The International, the Battle Pass launch time is pretty much the same. A member of Reddit’s Dota 2 community pointed out that Valve released the Battle Pass 5 days after the workshop submission deadline ended.
Valve announced The International 2020 Call to Arms in mid-February. They didn’t say anything about the TI10 theme and let artists freely create their designs.
The submission deadline is April 27, 2020. The Battle Pass TI8 and TI9 both release 5 days after that deadline. If Valve follows the same sequence, the Battle Pass TI10 will most likely launch this week.
The Battle Pass was also released a few days before the Major. ESL One Los Angeles has ended and fans can’t wait to know Valve’s plans for TI10.
If TI10 continues to take place in August, Valve may be able to release the Battle Pass on time. Sweden currently has a travel ban and this could lead to delays. Same with the ESL One Los Angeles Major: initially delayed but later changed to an online tournament without the Major title.
If Valve decides to move TI10 to a later time, the early launch of the Battle Pass TI10 will increase the TI10 bonus from crowdfunding even more.
Of course, Valve will want to make this decision soon.
Covid-19 pandemic has a big impact on esports events including TI10
Major events scheduled to take place now will not have a live audience at the tournament. The International 2020 is the biggest esports tournament of the year as well as marking its 10th anniversary.
This is considered a great esports time for millions of Dota 2 fans around the world to gather. However, with the Covid-19 epidemic, a big question mark was raised for this event.
Famous caster, Toby “TobiWan” Dawson asked fans if they think TI10 will take place in August. The results are pretty close, but most think the tournament should take place in August with no bids.
Every day I have woken up and had so many choices of @DOTA2 games to watch! Online tournaments are so enjoyable during this quarantine.
Do you still think though that The International 10 is still possible in August?

Fans also witnessed many live tournaments change to online format. Regional tournaments are currently overwhelming esports, and many events overlap.
With the Dota Pro Circuit on hiatus, Valve had to find a new and fair way to select the teams that would make it to TI10.
