Ark: Survival Evolved is officially 5 years old, and on that occasion, Epic Games Store has given away the free game in this batch.
If you don’t know about the game, Ark is a massive survival sandbox MMO game that focuses on crafting and discovering giant dinosaurs that are everywhere. They can be tamed, domesticated, and ridden to battle, armed with laser guns mounted on their heads. You will start the game with nothing!
Studio Wildcard added more dinosaurs to celebrate the event. You will meet Tropeognathuc, the real-life version of pteranodon. It is the familiar flying dinosaur we often see in movies.
The event also features the popular ISO Crystal Isles community map, officially becoming the most important free DLC. It has long been a mod in the Steam Workshop, but is now part of the main game. Crystal Isles includes flying islands, lava reefs – and is also home to crystal dinosaurs that you can tame.
Wildcard will also be adding a host of events to celebrate its 5th birthday: cakes, unicorns, and parties, for everyone to enjoy.
Ark is one of the best survival games on PC and has a huge community on Steam. In March, the game peaked at 157,400 continuous players.
If dinosaurs aren’t your thing, Epic also offers another game in this round: a collection of traditional Samurai Shodown games, part of the Samurai Shodown Neo Geo Collection. You can get the game on Steam from June 18, but why should we wait any longer and buy this on Steam. This week, the Samurai Shodown collection will be free on the Epic Games Store. It includes Samurai Shodown V Perfect, which was never released on Neogeo.
