A great simulation game that you should not miss.
Over the past 15 days, the world has been turned upside down by the event that the super-heavy cargo ship Ever Given ran aground in the Suez Canal, clogging the arterial canal that is the world’s most important maritime route. It wasn’t until March 28, thanks to the full moon that caused the tide to rise, that the giant cargo ship Ever Given escaped, and traffic was completely blocked.
On March 23, the container ship Ever Given was “stuck” in the Suez Canal, causing a serious blockage of the global shipping route. All efforts to help free this super ship were in vain as the excavators and tugs had to work at full capacity to free the ship from the sand. Even from space, Russian cosmonaut Sergey Kud-Sverchkov, who has been living and working in the orbiting laboratory since October, has shared images taken from orbit of the spacecraft. Ever Given is trapped in the Suez Canal.
The stranding of the giant cargo ship Ever Given has led to a large number of memes and even a mod that adds the trapped Ever Given container ship to the Microsoft Flight Simulator game. Now, there is also a game that simulates the Suez Canal, which will allow players to recreate the journey of a giant container ship passing through this extremely small canal and of course will also give players the feeling of had to “dig” the Suez Canal to help the giant container ships not get stuck.
This simulation game boasts 600 km of canals running along uninterrupted lines, allowing players hundreds of hours to enjoy how miserable having to dig the Suez Canal would be. “Go either North or South from 100 kilometers to the Mediterranean Sea or the Red Sea via the 193-kilometer Suez Canal.”
Suez Canal Simulator was even developed before March of this year, before the huge cargo ship Ever Given got stuck and turned the world upside down. The developer hasn’t made any announcements as to whether the Ever Given crisis has spurred the development of this title. However, a DLC called Panama Canal Simulator is promised to be released in August 2021 allowing gamers to continue to dig the world’s second most important canal – Panama.
Suez Canal Simulator is currently preparing to launch on the Steam platform, interested gamers can access it here:
