At EA Play 2019, Respawn Entertainment gave us our first look at the Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass and lots of new content. The new pass will be called Battle Charge and season 2 will feature a new weapon, a new Legend named Wattson, and “a new way to play the game.”
The new weapon was the first that Respawn introduced. It’s called L-Star – the favorite gun from Titanfall 2. This is a gun that has more damage than any rifle in the game. Specifically, the L-Star can only be obtained from the Care Package, similar to the Kraber and Mastiff.
As for the Battle Pass, we know it will take less time for players to reach level 100. Respawn previously said the Battle Pass will include the challenge, rather than just XP. There will also be four more legendary skins, including Prince of Darkness for Caustic and Jade Tiger for Octane. We also have a Spitfire skin called The Intimidator and an Iron Rampage skin for R-301.
Respawn also announced season 2 will have a completely new rank mode for players to participate in matches of a higher level. Ranked modes are very rare in battle royale games, partly because it is very difficult to match matches for players of the same rank.
Finally, Respawn announced Wattson, the 10th character of Apex Legends. The character first appears in the game’s first story video; She is a creative doctor and a brilliant engineer. Wattson can create defensive electric walls to control the area around him during combat.
Apex Legends Season 2 Battle Pass will be out shortly after Season 1 ends. While Respawn doesn’t say directly about their prices, Season 1’s Battle Pass is $9.50, so it’s likely that Season 2 will be priced similarly.
