The arrival of Revenant has added excitement to Apex Legends Season 4. Here is a list of tips that can help you play this new character well.
Revenant is the latest Legend in Apex Legends, part of the big update of Season 4. The update also adds major changes in map, weapon, Legend and a new gun etc.
Like other Legends, Revenant has 3 different skills – tactical Silence, passive Stalker, ultimate Death Totem.
- Silence (tactical): Throw a device that deals 10 damage and locks the enemy’s skill set for 10 seconds.
- Stalker (passive): You sit faster and can climb higher than other Legends.
- Death Totem (ultimate): Dropping a totem grants those who use it immortality for a period of time. Instead of being killed or knocked out, the player will return to the totem.
If you think these skill sets are strong, it’s because they allow Revenant to manipulate some of the game’s most important mechanics.
To use this character effectively and exploit the full potential of Revenant, here are 5 tips for you.
Set a reasonable Death Totem
Revenant’s Ultimate Death Totem is a big reason this character was chosen, and you have to know how to place the Totem wisely.
Remember that when using Death Totem, you and your teammates will teleport back to it instead of collapsing. This creates an opportunity for your opponent to counter the ultimate by placing Caustic’s Nox Gas Trap right next to it, or shooting at your teammates when you respawn.
Therefore, you need to put your ultimate in a safe, shielded location, so that the enemy can’t find and trap you, or wait for you to respawn with a small amount of health to finish. Avoid placing Totems on doors or anything that can be opened and closed, because when the door closes, the totem will be destroyed.
Take note of the scope of the Death Totem
When activating Revenant’s Death Totem, always remember that it only works when you’re within the radius of your ultimate, marked by a light blue circle on the screen.
If you leave the ring’s range, your character is no longer in ‘shadow’ mode, and will take normal damage. However, sometimes it’s a good idea to go out of the circle radius, especially when you suspect the opposing team has set traps around their team’s Totem or is trying to ambush your team on respawn.
Go sit as much as possible
Revenant’s Passive allows the character to walk at the same speed as normal walking. And since sitting doesn’t make any footsteps in Apex Legends, it’s clearly something you want to exploit.
You can use this movement speed to follow the enemy. And in teamfights, you can combine it with traversing to make the character harder to hit.
Unless you need to quickly get to an area or escape a gathering storm, it’s best to sit and walk when using Revenant.
Trick your opponent with your moves
Revenant’s Passive Stalker unlocks a ton of new movement tricks – something you’ll always want to exploit when facing enemies.
Most players won’t know how high the new Legend can climb or how fast it can sit, so you can use these two mechanics to trick your opponents.
“Cheat” is the main point here. So, you can run to make a noise, then quickly move to another seat to confuse the other person. You can also climb to high places – places that other Legends can’t reach – and make opponents unable to react.
Use tactical Silence and your weapon at the same time
Most players still don’t realize that when using Revenant’s tactical, your other arm can be used for something else.
For example, you can fire a gun and use Silence at the same time, doubling the damage. Specifically, you can aim with a gun to improve accuracy when throwing Silence.
An effective tactic is to use Arc Star at the same time: throw Arc Star and Silence at the same time to both deal damage and completely disable enemies.

It is still too early to know if Revenant can become a Legend in the top meta, but it is clear that this character has a lot of potential.
