Respawn continues to do justice, hardware ID-bannning (HWID) – the computer hardware ID ban of Apex Legends players is being widely adopted.
Just shared on ResetEra and Reddit, hackers are constantly circling the forums to find ways to bypass or remove hardware bans, not just their game accounts. Changing the IP address and any other “fix” didn’t work, the HWID code was forced on the hacker’s computer hardware.
“I was banned from HWID”, lamented Chunk. “Can someone help me and tell me how to get around it so I can play normally. Every time I create a new account it gets banned.”
Another Redditor directly updated a banned streamer while streaming, causing him to give up the game and change to another game.
Respawn banned more than 355,000 hackers on PC last month, indicating it is investing in its anti-cheat team, and also plans to add a direct reporting feature to Easy-Anti-Cheat.
“The service works but the anti-hacking work is still going on and we will need to adapt to it and continue to fight back,” Reprise said at the time. “We are serious about banning hacking and cares about all players in Apex Legends.”
