Apex Legends: Guide to move faster than other players

Character control is a basic but incredibly important skill in Apex Legends, and players need to know how to control speed, jump, and slide to gain an advantage against slow opponents.

The movement system in Apex Legends is considered the smoothest and most comfortable in any battle royale game. Influenced by the movement array in Titanfall, sliding down hills and the ability to climb walls ensure characters always move smoothly.

Thanks to it, Apex Legends has become extremely popular, compared to shooting games that limit the character’s movement.

How to move fast in Apex Legends

Everyone knows the character will run faster when the weapon is put away, so here is the first tip. Simply put your weapon away for maximum speed. As YouTuber FreeSquadCarry points out, the maximum speed is 299.

But FreeSquadCarry also points out that if you don’t run in a straight line, your speed will drop below 299, slowing the character down. Luckily we have a solution to this problem.

In the video, if you press A or D on the PC, or move the left stick on the cross handle, the character will lose speed. Therefore, in order to move faster than other players, you need to practice so that you do not make this mistake, using only the mouse or the need to “spin” the body.

As FreeSquadCarry explains, the W key should be the only “pedal”, and your mouse the steering wheel. Avoid cross moves to keep 299 speed, giving you the fastest run at all times.

It’s important to note that, even if you rotate your body with just the mouse, you can still lose speed if you rotate too quickly or suddenly. Therefore, make sure to hover slowly, smoothly to keep the speed high.

If possible, train in the Firing Range, if unsure of your speed. You can add this command in the Origin launcher to see the movement speed in the game.

Command line in Origin advanced launch options: +cl_showpos 1

Then get into the Firing Range, practice hovering and make sure you can run around World’s Edge and Kings Canyon at top speed at all times.
