Apex Legends has a lot of weapons and knowing which situation to use them in is not easy at all. As a result, one gamer has released a ranking list of which weapons perform best in each of the three phases of each match.
How many stages are there in an Apex Legends match?
While Apex Legends doesn’t have a clear definition of each game stage, most people agree that each game has three phases: early game, mid game, late game.
To find out which stage you’re at, here’s a description of each stage:
- Early game: From the beginning of the match until the end of the first round
- Between game: From the end of the early game until the game has 10 players or less on the map (when the number of players changes to the ?)
- End game: From the end of the Mid game until the end of the game
Most players will change the way they play depending on the stage, because each stage requires you to have a different strategy and level of risk, as well as whether to continue looting.
What is the best weapon in each stage?
Because each stage in an Apex Legends match has different gameplay and decisions, the weapons from there also change from stage to stage.
To understand this better, Redditor ‘Comanglia’ posted a guide showing which of the 6 weapons is considered the best at each stage.
The guide breaks down into three main sections: equivalent to each stage, and then splits into 6 sub-categories that rank weapons from best to worst at that stage.
In addition to this list, Comanglia also shared his thoughts on each weapon item, explaining why he chose this weapon over the others.
What factors were considered in the above tutorial?
On reddit, Comanglia explains that there are many factors that influence his classification, namely stages and weapons:
- Aim – Since aiming accessories are not immediately available, they play a very important role in the selection of a game-changing weapon.
- Weapon Swap Speed – Some weapons take longer to swap, which is why the RE-45 is designed to be a good backup weapon for the late game.
- Bullet Speed – Faster projectiles have more impact in long-range combat, so having ranged weapons with fast bullets, like the G7 Scout, is a big plus.
- Charge Time – Energy weapons like the Havok or Devotion LMG have a charge time when fired before they reach their maximum rate of fire. That’s why, without Turbocharger Hop-up, these weapons are not really reliable.
- Upgradable Potential – Weapons with multiple attachments and hop-ups are definitely better, that’s why the VK-47 Flatline isn’t highly rated in this ranking.
