Before Operation Para Bellum in Rainbow Six Siege was announced in detail, the map set in Italy will be the first thing to be announced before the new season of the game. Ubisoft has released a video introducing the entire new map, Villa, on YouTube.
Villa looks very impressive. Before that, we had only seen the landscape from afar as the two new operators were crossing the wheat fields. Now we can even see the sun rising over the hills of Italy. The map has many stone statues, fountains and wine cellars. It is a pity that such poetic things will soon be destroyed by gunfire in the next month.
The three-story mansion, while the video gives the impression that there’s still a basement underneath the building – the garage and the wine barrels -, it’s likely that they’re just the ground floor of the building when viewed from the front. The upper floor is quite open, with a large kitchen area in the middle, while the upper floor is narrower, including a secret room behind the bookshelf. The layout of the house will create different tactics depending on the location of the mission area.
In the design notes before the update, Ubisoft said that the fastest operators will be slightly slower after the update, while the slowest characters will get a slight increase in movement speed. “We have seen speed stronger than armor in the vast majority of cases. To adjust this balance, we will shorten the distance between the two sides closer together. The intention of the speed change is to give Operators more useful armor.”
Ubisoft will announce the full details of Operation Para Bellum on May 19 and 20 during the Pro League Finals in Atlantic City and will be streamed live on Twitch. According to past premiere time reviews, the new season is expected to air in early June.
