Tyler “Ninja” Blevins had a memorable 2019, and it looks like his 2020 is off to a good start too. Ninja previously announced in early December that it would be partnering with Adidas to produce a new shoe called the “Time In” under the Nite Jogger line. The shoe is designed with his traditional blue and gold Ninja lettering. The adult sizes of this version sold out within 1 hour of launch.
The shoes are sold online for $150 for adults and $120 for children. Now, when the goods are sold out on the official website, their redemption prices start to skyrocket. In some cases, the price of shoes jumped to nearly $230 within the first 24 hours. Ninja, a streamer famous for playing Fortnite, posted a video thanking his fans. “My first Adidas shoe sold, and I was speechless,” the streamer said. “Thanks to everyone who bought this shoe, I love you guys. 2020 is going to be a great year.”
The popular streamer switched from Twitch to streaming platform Mixer last year in search of opportunities to expand his brand. In June 2019, Ninja released a guidebook on how to play games more effectively and quickly created a fever. The book was just the beginning of his brand expansion.
Recently, Ninja played Fortnite with Star Wars movie star, Mark Hamill, to celebrate The Rise of Skywalker in theaters. Pre-recorded event in which Ninja teaches Mark Hamill to play the popular battle royale game. However, this short video with Luke Skywalker won’t be Ninja’s last involvement with the film industry.
Ninja will appear in the new movie starring Ryan Reynolds. The movie is called Free Guy and will be released in July this year. In the film, Ryan Reynolds is a bank employee who suddenly realizes he is an NPC in a video game. We don’t know yet what role Ninja will play in the movie, but it looks like he will play himself in this game-themed movie.
