Accused of racism, hot PS5 game forced to change character shape

Just a few hours after releasing the new trailer at the event PS5 on 11/6 last, Little Devil Inside was criticized by a part of players, who said that the game was intentionally installed to be racist. First introduced at Steam Greenlight 2015, Little Devil Inside is the title role-playing game Survival action, takes the player to an alien world where dozens of dangerous creatures await. With a unique graphic style that combines animation with 3D, this time back at the PS5 event, Little Devil Inside would have been very promising if it weren’t for this unintended incident.

If we pay attention, we will see the image of the main character being chased by a bunch of creatures with a strange appearance, featuring black skin, large red lips and sharp teeth. Only appearing for about 40 seconds in the trailer, but this image makes many people immediately think of the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests. Moreover, these black creatures in Little Devil Inside represent the villain, so some people seem to be displeased.

In response to the negative reaction of the player community, NPT Neostream Interactive apologized on Facebook and affirmed that the company did not have any bad intentions here: “We really didn’t mean it, we don’t know the design. This character design has such a negative connotation. We sincerely apologize to those who were offended by this.”

Neostream Interactive is a Korean studio, so some cultural concepts they don’t know all about. Thankfully, the company quickly absorbed everyone’s comments and promised to correct this mistake before the game’s release. Except that, Little Devil Inside seems to be quite an impressive game when it comes to giving players a balanced experience between survival and adventure. The game will be released for PC, PS4 and PS5.​
