Jack Marston is the son of outlaw John Marston and Abigail Roberts, a prostitute. Both were members of the Van der Linde gang. Kidnapped as a hostage from a young age

Jack’s abduction was first carried out by the Braithwaite family in Red Dead Redemption 2 to avenge the van der Linde gang’s trouble making their business unsatisfactory. After Van der Linde burned down Braithwaite’s mansion to the rescue, Jack was handed over and raised by Angelo Bronte.

In 1911, Jack and his mother were once again held hostage by FBI agents, Edgar Ross and Archer Fordham. Arthur Morgan, the main character in Red Dead Redemption 2 is known as his second father. When Jack said goodbye to him at the end of the game, it was also the last time the two saw each other because Arthur also left shortly after. A few years later, Jack lost his uncle and father again as mentioned above. At the end of Red Dead Redemption, we can see Abigail and Jack burying their loved ones after the terrifying battle at Beecher’s Hope.

Although it is unknown what the rest of Jack’s life will be like, Jack seems to have accepted a life of wandering aimlessly like his parents, which when alive they tried to prevent.
