Since its release, Fallout 76 has always been involved in scandals, when it comes to this sequel of the Fallout series, the impression in the minds of gamers is almost only a bad quality game and the scandals surrounding it. And now after nearly a year of release, the game is still not free from unnecessary controversy.
According to the PC Gamer site, recently a series of Fallout 76 T-51b gas helmets in the collectible version of Bethesda do GameStop distribution had to be urgently recalled due to the risk of “poisoning” players. 20,000 hats were made, and 32 of them were sold through GameStop. The helmet being recalled is “Fallout 1:1 Power Armor Nuka Cola Helmet” with a red appearance and white side tubes. These hats were sold by GameStop in June this year for 150 USD (nearly 3.5 million VND).
According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), only red hats distributed exclusively by GameStop will be recalled. The fabric inserted inside these hats has become moldy, posing a risk of respiratory infections, especially for people with weakened immune systems, damaged lungs or allergies to mold. According to PC Gamer, GameStop is currently contacting the buyers to recall the hat and refund them.
Although this product is manufactured by a third party, Chronicle, this is not the first time Bethesda has faced customer complaints about its collectibles. Another scandal occurred last year when instead of a genuine Canvas bag for the $200 Power Amor Edition collectible, Bethesda sent gamers a fake bag that looked like a garbage bag. After too many mixed opinions, the company finally had to return the real goods to the players, but it took 7 months for the bag to reach the hands of gamers.
