Facebook Gaming holds weekly gaming tournaments to raise funds to support the fight against COVID-19

Facebook Gaming recently started organizing weekly charity events through the initiative Play Apart Together supported by the majority of the industry games. Starting now, the game tournament will also be held for the same purpose.

According to Next Level Gaming, the Tournaments will take place every Thursday where celebrities will gather to play and streaming games in tournament format. Some of the games that are part of this initiative include sports titles like NBA 2K20 and FIFA 20, as well as battle royale game as famous as Fortnite. This plan has attracted a significant number of players in the community and has also gained popularity to be able to live stream and attract viewers.

All sponsorships collected from the tournaments will be donated to the Pandemic Solidarity Fund COVID-19 by UNF/WHO to help support anti-epidemic. Furthermore, the winner of each weekly tournament will be awarded $25000 and they will choose a charity to support that money.

In spite of Facebook Not the most famous tech company in recent times, but this initiative is truly admirable. At a time when public safety awareness and health plans need a lot of support and help, Facebook Gaming’s contributions are greatly appreciated. Hopefully this will inspire other companies and businesses to have similar initiatives in the future.​
