State of Decay 3 zombie pandemic game officially announced

Title survival game open world State of Decay 2 officially launched in 2018 and as soon as the game was released, there were many rumors related to the next version of this series. It is described as an MMO game with a huge, huge world. Finally in the recently held Xbox Game Showcase, the developer also officially announced State of Decay 3.​

The game was announced with a trailer over 1 minute long with the main character is a woman. At the beginning of the trailer is the image of a lonely woman in the wilderness, sharpening an arrow by the fire. Something was stalking her in the dark and she screamed to scare it away. The woman then continued to explore the forest, tracking blood on the snow, she saw a wolf being eaten by a deer. It might sound a bit strange for carnivores and herbivores to swap places, but in this case it makes sense that this is a zombie deer.

Although not introducing the gameplay of the game, this trailer also gives us an idea of ​​​​the plot. It seems that in addition to human enemies and zombies, players will also have to fight creatures that become aggressive and bloodthirsty after infection. State of Decay 3 is being developed by Undead Labs, which is one of six studios Xbox acquired in 2018 (including Compulsion Games, inXile Entertainment, Ninja Theory, Obsidian Entertainment, Plyground Games and Undead Labs). In 2019, Xbox also acquired Double Fine Productions and World’s Edge Studio.

Temporarily State of Decay 3 does not have a specific release date, all we know is that the game will be released on Xbox Series X – the new generation of consoles from Microsoft and PC. It looks like the game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass in the future.​
