Cyberpunk 2077 allows streamers to replace in-game songs to avoid copyright

In the latest episode of the video series Night City Wirehead of communications department of CD Projekt REDsaid Hollie Bennett Cyberpunk 2077 have permission mode streamer turn off copyrighted songs: “We know that for content creators, copyright music always a problem. So in this new mode, players can turn off and replace a certain amount of copyrighted music to avoid the associated hassle.”

Copyright music is automatically disabled when the streamer streams directly from the console, but the feature can be turned on or off manually. As for PC livestreams, streamers can turn on or off copyright music in Cyberpunk 2077’s settings.

The above solution is implemented after Twitch deletes all the offending videos DMCA Act off the platform. Previously, Quantum Break allowed players to turn off copyrighted music for this reason.

Cyberpunk 2077 features over 150 tracks by artists such as Swedish punk band Refused, pop phenomenon Grimes and hip hop group Run The Jewels. Although there are rumors that Lady Gaga will appear in Cyberpunk 2077, it seems that this is not true.
