dennis joins NiP, Xizt leaves

The Swedish team “lost” at cs_summit 2, replacing Richard “Xizt” Landström with Dennis “dennis” Edman.

dennis was put on the bench at GODSENT in November, he finally found a new place at NiP. He will take the position of IGL from one of the Ninja’s veterans, Xizt.

This news comes after the team’s disappointing end in late 2017. Although NiP won the IEM Oakland championship, they quickly left early at the BLAST Pro Series and ESL Pro League Season 7 Finals. Most recently, the team placed 7-8 at the cs_summit 2 tournament last weekend.

With this change, the NiP lineup is as follows:

Sweden Patrick “f0rest” Lindberg
Sweden Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund
Sweden Fredrik “REZ” Sterner
Sweden William “draken” Sundin
Sweden Dennis “dennis” Edman

Sweden Faruk “pita” Pita (Coach)

Sweden Richard “Xizt” Landström (substitute)

26-year-old player Richard “Xizt” Landström said he still plans to continue playing professionally. The 26-year-old has been a part of NiP since their re-debut in August 2012, leading the team for the vast majority of competitive years. He and his teammates won the ESL One Cologne 2014 Major, DreamHack Masters Malmö 2016, and two IEM Oakland events.

On Twitter, he wrote it was “a sad day” and stated his intention to continue playing:

[penci_blockquote style=”style-2″ align=”none” author=”” font_style=”italic”]Sad day to leave NiP’s main roster… I really want to keep playing, and that’s what I’m aiming for next. I will update more details in the near future. thanks for the support.[/penci_blockquote]
