A while ago, FACEIT announced they were selected as the organizers of Valve’s next Major event. As a result, the list of Major tournament organizations has grown to seven. This is a big step to help diversify events, as well as add competition for organizers. Recently, FACEIT has announced more details about the Major London 2018 event.
FACEIT Sales Director, Michele Attisani said:
[penci_blockquote style=”style-2″ align=”none” author=”” font_style=”italic”]The community remains the driving force behind our work at FACEIT, and we’re grateful for the support of FACEIT players and those who attended and followed ECS. … We look forward to seeing everyone this September.[/penci_blockquote]
The $1,000,000 tournament will be held in London, England from September 20 to 23, taking place at SSE Arena, Wembley. This place used to be used to hold FACEIT’s ECS Seasons 1 and 3 events. Here, 24 teams compete to claim the Major title with cash prizes. We already know the 16 participating teams, the top 16 from the ELEAGUE Boston Major 2018. Meanwhile, the remaining 8 places will be determined by the Minor finals taking place around the world. In addition, FACEIT also said that all regions’ online and Minor qualifiers will take place internally to “get stability and cohesion with the Major”.
Here are the 16 teams that have been confirmed to attend the FACEIT London Major 2018, based on the results at the ELEAGUE Major Boston:
