Hearthstone game director Ben Brode is leaving Blizzard to join a new project. Brode, who has been with Blizzard for the past 15 years and a decade with the Hearthstone team, announced the news on the Hearthstone forums earlier this morning.
“I am greatly praised by the community for representing Hearthstone, but the Hearthstone team of over 80 is still here, and they are the ones who actually make the cards, brawls, events, quests and features. ,” Brode wrote. “I believe the game is being developed by the best, and I’m excited to see where the next generation of leaders will take Hearthstone.”
Ben Brode’s first job at Blizzard was “Nighttime Game Tester,”. Ben has not said who will replace the position of game director.
“I am very fortunate to have been able to take this risk in my life, and I am also a little scared but excited,” Brode said. Brode will leave Blizzard to “start a new company”. “We’ll probably develop the game, but people still don’t know what to do.”
He will “design, code and actually .” create everything again,” he says (but Ben will still remember the Starbucks store that is in the Blizzard company). Before concluding the post, Brode thanked the community for their support over the past 15 years.
Ben Brode’s influence was present in the next two expansions. The Blizzard team is working – at least one is nearing completion – less than two weeks after The Witch Wood’s release.
