Astralis has just signed MAD Lion star Lucas “Bubzkji” Andersen, and they also parted ways with AWPer Jakob “JUGi” Hansen.

Astralis is looking to rebuild its CSGO empire. Their original lineup is considered the longest dominating CSGO empire in history, with countless trophies displayed in glass cabinets.

However, five members is still not enough. Astralis recruited Patrick “es3tag” Hansen as the team’s sixth player in March. JUGi then became the seventh.

Now, this AWPer has been dropped from the list as Astralis looks to the talent of the MAD Lions team.

After the news that Astralis went to MAD Lions to get Bubzkji’s signature, the team has now confirmed the admission of this 7th member. The 22-year-old will sign a two-year contract with the Danish tycoon.

In this move, JUGI, who is considered the second sub, will bid farewell to Astralis and return as a free agent. JUGi admits he is “disappointed” by the decision but respects it and wants to continue playing.

As for Bubzkji, when he learned of Astralis’ intentions, he changed his mind and wanted to deploy to a new organization. He said many teams have offered, but Astralis is the place he really wants to play.

Bubzkji’s future at MAD Lions was discussed for a long time during the players break. It was reported that he was placed on the bench after the organization told fans that they were “reviewing the lineup in search of success.”

The 22-year-old made a breakthrough in 2019 while playing under Nicolai “HUNDEN” Peterson. First on the Tricked team, then on to the MAD Lions. He averaged over 1.10 ratings most of his time playing for the MAD Lions and is considered one of the brightest talents in Denmark.

Astralis spoke about the intention of a 10-member squad in CSGO. They plan to build a second team to support the main team: not only in practice but also as a substitute if the main player wants to rest.

“Ultimately, we would like to see games with 10 players with a second roster like League of Legends,” Astralis sporting director Kasper Hvidt told fans.

Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander and Andreas “Xyp9x” Hojsleth are currently out, with JUGi and stand-in Snappi replacing them temporarily.
